My Vision
My vision is to build a vibrant, thriving Chatham-Kent for all, with a focus on three key priorities:
1. Accountable, Responsible Leadership
- Improve transparency and accountability in municipal decision making
- Ensure tax dollars deliver meaningful results for residents
- Take a responsible approach to spending and taxation
- Work collaboratively to accomplish goals
- Be a strong voice for residents and their priorities
Ward 7 residents can expect clear answers, smart use of their tax dollars, and a Councillor that stays focused on strong advocacy and achieving results. Residents want to know their concerns are taken seriously and followed through on.
2. A Stronger Local Economy
- Work to establish a Mayor’s Task Force focused on sustainable economic development and our future
- Work with the BIA and the Chamber of Commerce to continue the revitalization of our downtown and public spaces to build community pride
- Grow local tourism by supporting festivals, arts and cultural events, and sports activities
- Create municipal summer employment opportunities for local youth
- Collaborate with community partners and other levels of government to address homelessness and affordable housing
I am committed to supporting all local businesses, strengthening our festivals, cultural events, and sports, and creating real opportunities for young people and families to build their future here. I will advocate for summer job programs that give our youth a strong start and help them stay connected to our community.
Addressing homelessness and the rising cost of housing will take a coordinated strategy across all levels of government and our community partners--it’s not something any one group can solve alone. We need solutions that are practical and long-term strategies that balance compassion with community safety. Accountability is crucial to ensure value for money in services that are provided.
3. Improving Community Infrastructure and Essential Services
- Review all contracted services to ensure efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
- Operate a reliable and efficient Public Utilities Commission (PUC) responsible for water and wastewater services
- Advocate for a more proactive approach to road maintenance
- Work closely with Chatham-Kent Police Services to address neighbourhood safety
- Invest in arenas, recreation centres, parks, and other community assets
Reliable public services are essential to our quality of life. I’m committed to improving the basics—better roads, a dependable PUC, effective snow removal, and well-maintained streets while ensuring residents’ tax dollars are spent responsibly.
This means focusing on what matters most: better roads, reliable services, transportation that works, and increased investment in the parks, arenas, and community spaces families use in Ward 7.
Neighbourhood safety is important to residents in Ward 7 and strong community partnerships are key to keeping our neighbourhoods healthy, safe, and connected.
